Congress releases its manifesto for Madhya Pradesh assembly elections


In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress today released its manifesto for the Assembly elections. The party assured to address issues like farmer loans, employment, women security and corruption. It said, electricity bills of farmers will be reduced to half and their debts will be waived off.


The manifesto also promises a new recruitment system in place of Vyapam. Releasing the document atthe party office in Bhopal, Congress State Unit President Kamal Nath said, the manifesto has been prepared after discussions with everybody.


Assembly polls in the state will be held in a single phase on the 28th of this month.

Meanwhile, electioneering is gaining momentum in the state. The war of words between the BJP and the Congress has intensified ahead of polling in Madhya Pradesh with both parties raising a range of issues to attack each other. Talking to reporters at Indore Friday, Congress national spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad said the BJP starts taking the name of Pakistan whenever it senses defeat in elections.


It also starts doing politics in the name of Lord Rama when elections are just around the corner, he said. Meanwhile, Union Minister for Minority Affairs and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi hit out at the Congress. Talking to journalists at Mandsaur Naqvi said the Congress feels restless when out of power. Accusing the Congress of engaging in corruption and running governments in a dictatorial manner, Naqv isaid the Congress party is spreading rumors about Prime Minister and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.


While, addressing a rally at Khandwa yesterday,Union minister and BJP leader Suresh Prabhu said the Congress is running out of ideas in elections and hence it is doing politics on the country's security.
