Congress has approached the Election Commission against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah for allegedly invoking Armed Forces in their election speeches.

A party delegation met the Commission in New Delhi today and filed a complaint. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi told media that despite poll panel's guidelines the BJP leaders are invoking them in their rallies.

He said that the Commission must stop such things. He added that the Congress has also asked the Commission to ban the web series showing Mr Modi's heroic acts.
Another party leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said that they have filed a complaint against BJP leader and Union Minister Maneka Gandhi for her remarks targeting a particular religion during a rally in Uttar Pradesh and demanded lodging of an FIR against her.
The delegation also raised the issue of variations in educational qualification furnished in election affidavit by BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani.
