Catholic Bishops’ Conference in Sri Lanka appeals for impartial inquiry into Easter Sunday attacks

AIR Pic
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference in Sri Lanka (CBCSL) has appealed to the government to hold an impartial inquiry in the Easter Sunday attacks and bring the perpetrators to book. Issuing a media release, the CBCSL said a fair and impartial investigation on the incident has not taken place yet.

The statement said several committees have been established and their main focus appears to be to find out those responsible for the serious lapses in security. It added that as a matter of justice, the final aim should be to ascertain who the perpetrators are and those have aided and abetted in any way in this dastardly act. The Conference asserted that it does not see any positive signs in this direction.
