Case registered against railway officer for hiding fact about his daughter being suspected case of coronavirus infection

In Uttar Pradesh, a case has been registered by police in Agra under the section 269, 270 of IPC and Pandemic Act (Epidemic Act) against a railway officer for hiding the fact about his daughter being suspected case of coronavirus infection. This is the first FIR for hindering the effort to contain the spread of coronavirus. According to the police, the railway officer's daughter had returned from Italy to Agra. Health department team reached the railway officer's house on Friday to enroll the girl for checkup and put her in the isolation ward. The girl's father misled the police by giving false information that the girl has gone to Delhi.

Taking cognizance of the matter, District Magistrate Prabhu N Singh ordered the CMO to lodge a report against the railway officer. Senior Superintendent of Police Bablu Kumar said that a report has been lodged with Sadar police station against the railway officer today.
