Bypolls to two Assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh to take place tomorrow

In Himachal Pradesh, bypolls to Pacchad and Dharamshala Assembly seats will be held tomorrow. The by-elections were necessitated to Dharamsala and Pachaad as both the seats fell vacant after sitting BJP MLAs were elected to the recently held Lok Sabha election.

The main contest is between BJP and Congress. Elaborate security arrangements have been made to conduct free and fair polling. Voting will be held tomorrow from 8 am to 5 pm. Additional Chief Electoral Officer (Additional CEO) Rupali Thakur said that the State Election Department has made all-out efforts to ensure free and fair by-elections in Pachhad and Dharamshala. 

She said that total 202 polling stations have been set in both the Assembly Constituencies, out of which 113 are in Pachhad and 89 in Dharamshala, including one Auxiliary polling station at Dari in Dharamshala. As many as 82,137 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in Dharamshala and 74,487 voters in Pachhad.
