Both the houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day following ruckus over Delhi violence. Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day after the Speaker Om Birla requested the members to maintain dignity and decorum of the house.

When the house reassembled at 4.30 p.m. after repeated adjournments, the Speaker expressed his anguish over the happenings in the House during the day. The Speaker said, the Members should maintain the dignity of the House. He also requested the senior members to ensure the house be in order and also follow the parliamentary traditions.

Earlier in the day, the Opposition members created ruckus in the house on the issue. When the house assembled at 2 P.M., the Opposition members including Congress, TMC, DMK, SP, BSP and Left parties raised the issue and were demanding the resignation of the Home Minister. The Opposition members rushed to the well of the house and were holding placards and banners.

Amidst uproarious scenes, the Speaker decided to run the house as per the schedule. He also tried to pacify the members saying that he would allow them to discuss once when the normalcy restored in troubled parts of Delhi. He said that it is the responsibility of all the members to work towards maintaining peace and harmony across the country. But, despite repeated appeals by the Speaker, the opposition members further rushed to the treasury side with banners. This was opposed by the ruling party members which ensued to chaos. Senior Ministers also tried to pacify the members, and the Speaker immediately adjourned the house.
