Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal reviews flood situation with top officials

In Assam, floods situation in the state is slightly improved due to the improvement in weather condition. Official sources said that water lever receded in some places. 2 lakh 72 thousand people are affected at 11 districts in the first wave of floods in the state.  Nearly 17 thousand people are taking shelter at relief camps at Nalbari, Goalpara and Tinsukia districts.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has reviewed flood with the top officials of various other departments in Guwahati yesterday. Mr. Sonowal directed for ensuring all Covid-19 protocols including social distancing, hand washing, wearing of masks at the flood relief camps so that community spread of COVID-19 cases can be contained during the flood season.
