Andhra Pradesh FM Rajendranath Reddy presents budget for financial year 2019-20

Giving top priority for the implementation of welfare schemes, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Finance B Rajendranath Reddy presented his maiden budget for Financial Year, 2019-20 in the Legislative Assembly today proposing an expenditure of 2,27,974.99 Crore rupees with a revenue expenditure estimated at 1,80,475.94 Crore rupees. 

The budget estimates entail an "overall increase" of around 19.32 per cent over the 2018-19 budget estimates. While the revenue expenditure is estimated to increase by around 20.10 per cent, the capital expenditure is estimated to grow by around 12.60 per cent over the 2018-19 financial year.

Mr Rajendranath Reddy said the government has given top priority for the implementation of welfare schemes and allocated huge funds for the schemes.

An amount of  8,750 crore rupees was allocated for the implementation of YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme benefiting 64.06 lakh farmers, 1,163 crore rupees was allocated for the YSR crop insurance/YSR PM Fasal Bima Yojana scheme which benefits 60.02 lakh farmers. 6,455 crore rupees was allocated for YSRCP flagship scheme Jagananna Ammavodi under which every mother of BPL would be paid 15,000 rupees per year for sending her children to school.

About 43 lakh women would be benefited with the scheme, the Minister said. The government allocated 4,962.3 crore rupees for the implementation of fee reimbursement of students of the poor, 1,077 crore rupees for the implementation of mid-day meal scheme, 1,740 crore rupees for the implementation of Aarogya Sri Health Scheme.

15,000.86 crore rupees was allocated for the SC&ST welfare under SC component and 4,989.53 crore rupees under the ST component.

The government allocated 348.65 crores to provide free power supply up to 200 units to the households of SCs and 81.70 rupees crore for free power supply of households of STs families.

13,139.13 crore rupees was allocated for the construction of irrigation projects for the year 2019-20. The government in order to make women self-reliant, allocated 1,140 crore rupees for Self Help Group women, benefiting over 8 lakh women. Rs.500 crore was allocated for the development of capital city Amaravati, 1.150 crore rupees to settle the issues pertaining to the AgriGold company.
