Amit Shah appeals historian, scholars to rewrite history with Indian perspective

AIR PIC
Home Minister Amit Shah has appealed to historian and scholars to rewrite the history with the Indian perspective to tell the new generation about great heroes of the nation. He said history is written by victors and the responsibility of rewriting it lies with society and historians. He was speaking at the inauguration of a two-day international seminar on GUPTAVANSAIKA-VIRAH, Skandgupt Vikramaditya at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi.

The Home Minister said History has done injustice to Skandgupt and ignored his contribution to the country's history, culture and politics.

Amit Shah said very few people these days know that the Chinese Kingdom built the Great Wall to defend the country from the barbaric attack of Hunas who almost finished many big nations like Rome. But, for the first time, Hunas were defeated by the brave ruler of India, Skandgupt. He said rulers of China sent an appreciation letter praising Skandgupt.

AIR correspondent reports that during the seminar, historians and scholars from countries such as Japan, Magnolia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, America and Nepal, along with many historians from several universities will throw light on India's political scenario during Skandgupta Vikramaditya's period. Coordinator of the seminar, Gyanendra Rai told AIR News that it aims at making the new generation aware of the national hero, Skandagupt.
