AP Guv calls upon student community to think, plan & commit themselves to service of society

The Arunachal Pradesh Governor Dr B D Mihsra  called upon student community to think ,plan and commit themselves to the service of society.

Speaking on the occasion of 16th Convocation of Rajiv Gandhi University at Doimukh in Itanagar he said after graduating from the university the students have crossed the threshold of ‘being cared for’ ; ‘caring for others’ become their new role and fundamental duty and it has now become their turn to ‘pay back to society’.

While referring the students who awarded the gold medal today he expressed his happiness that the university academic results show that women students have performed better than boys in the university.

Governor Dr Mihsra presented Chancellor Medal to Biswadeep Doley for 17-18 academic sessions. Total 51 students of Post -Graduate and undergraduate classes received gold medals while two students were awarded with Vice Chancellor gold medal for their academic performance. More than five thousand (5,000) students were conferred degrees for various courses including 44 students were awarded with Ph.Ds.

Delivering the Convocation address and guest of honour the Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, Prof Nageshwar Rao said that education is the key to development  and it is the time that our policy makers must give top priority to higher education .

Referring the students he said after completing the university education the real education of life begins and they should accept the knowledge from whatever sources it comes. 

Earlier, the Rajiv Gandhi University Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha presented the academic report card of the university. He also highlighted the achievements and challenges of the University. Large number of teachers, students and other invitees were present on this occasion.
