AIR PICS
In a single day, 600 patients were treated for corona virus infection and discharged from various hospitals across Maharashtra. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that maximum number of cured COVID19 patients are from Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Malegaon regions and so far 7,688 patients have been treated and discharged across state. Presently 24,161 patients are undergoing treatment for COVID19 and the number of positive patients in Maharashtra has risen to 33,053. In view of the growing cases, the state government earlier in the day extended the ongoing curbs until May 31, hours before the national lockdown was extended for the similar duration.

The Minister informed that as per the new guidelines issued by the Centre regarding discharge of corona virus patients, henceforth asymptomatic COVID 19 positive patients will be discharged on the 10th day of the hospitalisation. Besides this, Centre’s fresh guidelines regarding regions where clusters of  infected patients have been found across state, are also being implemented. Presently there are 1,688 active containment zones in state and in last 24 hours 14,972 teams have surveyed 63.83 lakh people across state. Meanwhile, 5000 migrant workers and people stranded in Raigad district and Navi Mumbai left for their homes in Uttar Pradesh yesterday. The three Shramik Special Trains with 24-coaches each left of Azamgarh, Lucknow and Basti regions of UP from Panvel station at Navi Mumbai. All travellers underwent medical examination at the station before boarding the train.
