PM Modi praises 2 women Sarpanchs, one Municipal Corporation Prez of J&K for dedication in corona control

Prime Minister Narendra Modi showered praises on two women Sarpanchs of Jammu and Kashmir and a Municipal Corporation President for their earnestness and dedication towards Corona control measures in their respective areas in his recent Mann ki Baat programme on 26th of July this year.

In his address, the PM said that the rural masses have shown the way to the entire nation in the prevailing corona crisis. He said instances of villagers’ making continuous efforts in the fight against CoronaVirus have been pouring in from all over the Country including the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

He applauded the social services rendered by the elected Panchayat representatives in Jammu  and Kashmir for their endeavor in the fight against the prevention of Covid-19 pandemic in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Prime Minister mentioned about the Woman Sarpanch Zatoona Begum Ji of Panchayat Chontliwar Ganderbal, who decided to join the fight against CoronaVirus and at the same time created earning opportunities for the locals hit by the pandemic. The PM said that she distributed free masks and ration in the entire area and provided seed and apple saplings to save the local farmers from any difficulty.    

Narrating further, the PM also mentioned the good work of Municipal Committee President of Anantnag, Shri Mohammad Iqbal towards Covid Control measures. He said that Iqbal required a Sprayer for sanitization of his area and when he came to know that it can be procured from another city at Rs 6 Lakh, he made his own machine costing just Rs fifty thousand only.
