Vice President Venkaiah Naidu addresses 6th Institute Day Celebrations of IIT-Tirupathi

Vice President M.Venkaiah Naidu has stressed the need to ensure that science and technology improves the quality of our people's lives. Technology advancement is a key decisive factor in the development architecture of a country and youth can play a transformative role when they are properly skilled, motivated and given the right opportunities.
He was addressing the 6th Institute Day Celebrations of the Indian Institute Of Technology at Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh today.
The Vice President said that more attention should be given to building a stronger academia-industry connection and there is a need to increase the employability of engineering students.
Mr Naidu said, we have had an illustrious past. There was a time when India was known as Vishwa Guru. We have to regain that past glory and make India knowledge and education hub once again, he added.
The Vice President visited the exhibition at the IIT, Tirupathi premises. Mr Naidu planted a sapling in the IIT campus.
Earlier, the Vice President was welcomed by the AP Deputy Chief Minister K. Narayana Swamy and other dignitaries upon his arrival at Renugunta airport.
