UP govt presents biggest ever budget of around Rs 5,50,270 crores to make Atma Nirbhar or self-reliant state

Uttar Pradesh Government today presented the biggest ever budget to the tune of around Rs 5,50,270 crores to make Atma Nirbhar or self-reliant Uttar Pradesh. More than Rs 27,500 crores have been allocated for the new schemes and projects launched by the State Government in this budget which is over Rs 37,410 crore more than the previous year's budget size. The budget presented by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna today in the State Assembly was also the first paperless budget of any state in the country.
 
AIR Correspondent reports that the budget focuses on farmers' welfare, women empowerment and health sector along with the development projects. 


AIR Correspondent reports, Atmanirbhar Krishak Samanvit Vikas Yojna has been launched for the welfare of the farmers of the state. Seven hundred crores have been allocated for free irrigation to the farmers. Loan to the farmers will be given on reduced rates with a fund of Rs 400 crore. The State Government, in 2021-22, also proposes to set up 15,000 solar pumps. A sum of Rs 100 crore has been set aside for ensuring proper nutrition to girls and Rs 32 crore for setting up Mahila Shakti Kendras. 

The State Government also focused on heritage tourism in the state and particularly the overall development of Ayodhya. To improve the tourism in Ayodhya city, Rs 101 crore have been allocated in the budget for development of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport. Yogi Adityanath Government has also announced to provide financial help to destitute women under Mahila Samarthya Yojana till they get alimony from the Court. The State Government will provide free tablets to the eligible students under Abhyudaya Scheme. 

Fooding and lodging will now be free for those students who are learning Sanskrit language on Gurukul pattern. Speaking in a press conference after the budget UP CM Yogi AdityaNath said that this budget will become medium to fulfill the aspirations according to the potential of the state. He termed the budget as development-oriented and with the aim of public welfare.
