MP Governor issues fresh directive to CM Kamal Nath to face floor test today

FILE PIC
Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon has issued a fresh directive to Chief Minister Kamal Nath to face floor test today. The floor test was to be held yesterday on the opening day of the budget session of the state Assembly but the speaker adjourned the house till 26th of March under the pretext of Corona virus outbreak after Governor's customary brief address.

The 15-month old Kamal Nath Congress government is on the verge of collapse due to the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs.

AIR correspondent reports that even though the Governor has again directed Chief Minister Kamal Nath to prove his majority today, so far no official information has been received from the Assembly Secretariat regarding the session to be held today. On the other hand, Kamal Nath met the Governor last night and made it clear that his government is in majority. He said those who claim that we don't have a majority should move a no-confidence motion against my government to get the floor test done. Meanwhile, making quick actions, the government has appointed M Gopal Reddy as the new Chief Secretary of the state, while the current Chief Secretary SR Mohanty has been made the Director General of the Administrative Academy. Apart from this, Congress leader Shobha Ojha has been appointed as the Chairman of the State Women's Commission and Abhay Tiwari as the Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Youth Commission.
