Campaigning for assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana gains momentum

Camapaigning for Assembly Elections has intensified in Maharashtra and Haryana.

In Maharashtra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today addressed two rallies in Yavatmal and Wardha.

In the Yavatmal rally, Mr Gandhi accused the government of favouring the rich and ignoring the plight of the poor and the farmers.


Stating that the proposed NYAY scheme was to jump-start the economy, Mr Gandhi reminded the government that the economy is not run by industrialists, but by farmers, labourers and mid-size businesses.

Launching a scathing attack on the union government in his Wardha rally, Mr Gandhi said Congress government gave 35,000 crore rupees to the poor through MNREGA, while waiving off farm loans worth 70,000 crore rupees. He asked the people of Maharashtra to vote for a government that will work for the betterment of poor, farmers and small businesses. 

 
In Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal campaigned extensively today, addressing a rally in Rai Manohar Lal said, his government is for development, the roads in the area had been constructed and water would be made available in every house like the LPG was provided to every household.

Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda campaigned in various villages of Sonipat. He alleged that the BJP government has done nothing for the development of the state. Haryana Congress President Kumari Sailja targetted BJP government and other parties during her public rallies.



AAP State President Naveen Jaihind campaigned for party candidate from Palwal Kuldeep Kaushik. He criticised the government on the employment issue.
