Business houses offer special discounts for voters in Maharashtra

AIR PIC
As the State Assembly elections are approaching in Maharashtra, some business houses and traders are offering special discounts for the voters as an incentive for exercising their franchise on the polling day.

The District Administration in Nagpur has come out with a unique initiative to attract voters. This time it has assured the voters for granting discount ranging from 10 to 25 per cent in selected resorts and hotels at Pench Tiger Reserve near Nagpur.

Ramtek Sub Divisional Officer Jogendra Katyare informed that the voters would be offered these concessions after they show their finger with indelible ink mark as the proof of voting. The concessions will continue for 15 days from the polling day and will only be applicable for the voters of Maharashtra.

In Chandrapur district, restaurants and shopkeepers are offering around 10 per cent discount if voters show their inked finger on the voting day. District Collector Kunal Khemnar has taken this initiative and has appealed masses to take benefit of such schemes.
