Flood situation improves in Madhya Pradesh

AIR News
In Madhya Pradesh, the flood situation is improving. However,  due to the water releasing from other places including Kota Barrage in Rajasthan, the danger is not yet to be completely averted.

AIR correspondent reports, the Mandsaur district has worst affected by floods.

150 villages and around 800 shops of this district have suffered significant damage while 13 thousand people have become homeless.

Meanwhile, the army is evacuating people by motorboats from flood-hit villages in Sheopur, Bhind, Morena and other districts to safer places.

Meanwhile, the state Home Minister Bala Bachchan today said that the Central Government should immediately provide assistance of Rs. 2,000 crore to Madhya Pradesh to help the flood victims.

At the same time, the BJP has announced a sit-in demonstration on September 20 across the state in support of the flood-affected farmers.
