Incessant rain creates flood-like situation in Madhya Pradesh

AIR correspondent reports that the worst situation is in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Morena, Bhind, Raisen and Agar Malwa districts. Water has entered many villages in these districts and hundreds of people have become homeless. More than 16 thousand people of Neemuch and Mandsaur districts have been evacuated to safe places today. The Chambal, Narmada, Parvati, Betwa rivers and their tributaries are in spate, while the gates of all the major dams of the state have to be opened repeatedly.

Chief Minister Kamal Nath has said in a tweet message that the government is providing all possible help to the affected families. Madhya Pradesh has received 33 percent more rainfall than the average in this monsoon season so far. The MeT department has also issued a red for heavy rains in several districts including Alirajpur ,Aagar, Mansaur, Neemuch and Jhabua on Monday.
