Congress party has expressed deep concern over the reports of heavy deployment of security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Senior party leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi make a statement in Parliament on the current situation in the state. He said, the decision of heavy deployment of security forces has created panic among the local people.
Mr Azad said, the Home Ministry has instructed all tourists and Amarnath pilgrims to return from Jammu and Kashmir, curtailing the duration of yatra by 15 days.
He said, the current tourist season is presently on its peak and this decision is going to affect livelihoods of the people of the state.
