At least 3 passengers charred to death as Samaleswari Express catches fire

In Odisha, at least three persons have been charred to death when the engine of 18005 Howrah-Jagdalpur Samaleswari Express caught fire at Gadabaguda after meeting with an accident this afternoon. 

As per the information, the train rammed into a tower car engaged in repair work between Singapur Road and Keutguda under East Coast Railway Zone near Rayagada. 

Due to the collision, the front guard-cum-luggage van and one general second class coach derailed. 

The engine also caught fire and got derailed from the train. Fire tenders are currently engaged to douse the flames. 

Meanwhile, railways have ordered for an inquiry by the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Kolkata. Details are awaited.
