Congress blames PM Modi for unemployment, agrarian distress

Congress today said there has been unparalleled unemployment amongst youth, rampant agrarian distress, destruction of MSMEs and economic slowdown in the last five years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Talking to media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, the unemployment rate has climbed to 6.1 per cent from 2.2 per cent during the UPA rule. 

He said, the manufacturing growth rate fallen to just 1.8 per cent which was 3.5 per cent during the UPA.

He said the average agricultural growth rate has also fallen to 2.9 per cent which leads to distress in the farming community.
