Karnataka: By-election to Kundgol, Chincholi assembly constituencies to be held on Sunday

By-elections to the Kundagol and Chincholi Assembly constituencies in Karnataka will be held on Sunday.

The Kundagol seat fell vacant following the death of Municipal Administration Minister and Congress MLA CS Shivalli. By-polls to the Chincholi seat have been necessitated after Congress MLA Umesh Jadhav quit his seat and fought the Lok Sabha polls on BJP ticket from Kalburgi against Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

Eight candidates are in the fray for the Kundagol seat and 17 for Chincholi.

State Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar said, elaborate arrangements have been made for free and fair polling.
