Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat accepted Power Minister Anil Sharma’s resignation from the state cabinet today.

The Governor accepted his resignation on the recommendation of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

Meanwhile, BJP state president Satpal Singh Satti asked Anil Sharma to resign as MLA and also from the party.

In a statement, Mr Satti said, Anil Sharma had crossed all the limits of indiscipline by issuing statements against BJP candidate Ram Swaroop Sharma from Mandi Parliamentary seat.

Anil Sharma, who is former Telecom Minister Sukh Ram’s son, resigned from the State cabinet on Friday, days after Congress fielded his son Aashray Sharma as its candidate from Mandi seat.

He said he cannot campaign against his son and support BJP candidate Ram Swaroop Sharma at the same time.
