Star campaigners of political parties criss-crossing states as 2nd phase of LS Polls approaches

Star campaigners of political parties are on a whirlwind tour of States to garner votes as second phase of Lok Sabha polls approaches.

Voting in 97 Parliamentary seats spread over 13 states and union territories will be held on 18th April in this phase.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed election rallies in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

Addressing a rally in Mangaluru, Mr Modi said this election is not about choosing a prime minister or a government, but how a new India should be in the 21st century. He appealed to voters to strengthen his hands for a strong government. 

Mr Modi stressed that transperancy, honesty and sab ka saath sab ka vikas has been the hallmark of his Government. He assured the gathering that a separate ministry will be created for the welfare of fishermen and Matsa Sampada yojana will extend all possible help for fishermen community.

Earlier, speaking at a rally at Theni in Tamil Nadu, Mr Modi said he is committed to having a new India where all live a secure, prosperous and dignified life. He said, India is making a mark in the world by way of rapid progress. The Prime Minister also addressed a rally in Ramanathapuram.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi addressed two rallies in Kolar and Chitradurga, Karnataka. He said Nyay scheme will provide money to the 20 per cent of the poorest in the country. He also promised that farmers who do not return their loans will not be jailed and a separate budget will be brought for farming community. 

He once again said 22 lakh vacant jobs in Government will be filled, youth will be given 10 lakh jobs at Panchayats and those interested in starting their own business will not be required to seek permission for three years. Mr Gandhi also assured of 33 per cent reservation for women in Assemblies and Parliament.

In Uttar Pradesh, BJP president Amit Shah addressed two Vijay Sankalp rallies at Badayun and Shahjahanpur. He said BJP has done a lot for the poor and other sections of society. 

Addressing election rallies at Bulandshahar and Badayun, BSP President Mayawati said, BSP-SP-RLD alliance will give good results. 

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said their alliance is for poor people.
