UP: Navratra mela begins at shaktipeeth of Vindhyacahal in Mirzapur

In Uttar Pradesh, long queues of devotees are seen at Durga temples across the state. Navratra mela started at the famous shaktipeeth of Vindhyacahal in Mirzapur today.

Thousands of devotees thronged the temple of Goddess Goddess Ashtbhuja, Kali and Taradevi and had darshan. More than 25 lakh people are expected to reach this famous Shakti peeth.

At Devi Patan temple in balrampur devotees poured in from neighbouring Nepal also to offer prayers to the deity.

Kalash Yatras and voter awareness programmes of various kinds were organised at premises of famous temples to encourage people to vote in upcoming elections.

Many functions and cultural programmes also marked the new year celebrations. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted the people on this occasion.
