DMK in Tamil Nadu has amended its election manifesto to promise writing off all crop loans.

The party has aligned with Congress for the Lok Sabha elections.

It released its manifesto yesterday in which it was mentioned that crop loans for small and marginal farmers would be written off.

However, in a release in Chennai on Wednesday, the party has said, all crop loans including those availed by major landholders will be written off.

Launching his election campaign in Salem on Wednesday, AIADMK joint coordinator and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy has said, BJP-led government at Centre provides strong leadership.

In his address, he said the country is facing challenges from across the border necessitating a strong government.

He said a friendly government must be at the Centre for meeting development goals for the state.
