Congress releases first list of candidates for Lok Sabha elections

The Congress has released the first list of 15 candidates in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Party President Rahul Gandhi will contest from his sitting seat Amethi and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli. 

The list comprises eleven candidates for UP. Former Union Minister R.P.N. Singh has been given ticket from Kushi Nagar, Salman Khursid from Farrukhabad and Jitin Prasad from Dhaurahra.

Partly leader Nirmal Khatri has been fielded from Faizabad while Anu Tondon from Unnao. For Gujarat, the Congress has released names of four candidates. Prashant Patel will be the candidate from Vadodara and Bharatsinh Solanki from Anand Parliamentary Constituency.
