Women and Child Development minister Maneka Gandhi has said, the government is working on a mechanism on direct monitoring of child care institutions.

She expressed dismay at the low productivity of the Rajya Sabha which she said led to stalling of major bills, including the Trafficking of Persons (Prevention, Protection and Rehabilitation) Bill, 2018. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mrs Gandhi said, now there is a legal advisory board for the National Commission for Women and ensure that women get time-bound action.
