After a daylong heavy snowfall, the Ladakh region is basking in bright sunny day. Though morning was partly cloudy, the day progressed with clear sky in the region.  Life is limping back to normalcy in Ladakh.

Airforce has cleared the snow from runway in KBR Airport and Airport Authority has made apron ready for Air operations on Friday.

Air services are expected to start after 12 noon. Sofar, two airlines (AIR INDIA and SPICE JET) have confirmed their departure for Leh. Over 600 domestic and international passengers are stranded in Leh due to cancellations of air services yesterday. Airport officials said, as there are no gusty winds today, air operations can be possible till 2 pm today.

District administration has cleared the snow from roads to facilitate movement. However, warnings are in place for traffic to High Passes in Leh region. There is a threat looming around in Avalanche prone areas on the passes, due to sunny conditions.  AIR correspondent reports that the district administration is on high for any eventuality after heaviest snowfall of the last 10 years in the region, especially in Leh area. As there is a possibility of avalanche, restrictions on traffic towards high passes are continued to be in place.

Border Road Organization, SDRF are on vigil to meet any emergency in the region. Animal Husbandry Department is making arrangements to supply fodder to places where snow covered the grazing lands.
