Telangana CM presents Vote on Account Budget for 2019-20

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar today presented the Vote on Account Budget for the year 2019-20 at an estimated total expenditure of 1 lakh 82 thousand 017 (1,82,017) Crore rupees. This includes revenue expenditure of 1 lakh 31 thousand 629 crore rupees and capital expenditure of 32 thousand 815 crore rupees. He presented the budget in the State Legislative Assembly on Friday morning on the first day of its Budget Session.

In his budget speech, the Chief Minister said a full-fledged budget will be presented only after the Central Government comes up with its Annual Budget as the allocation of funds from Central Share and to some central schemes will be known by that time. Over state economy, he said the state has achieved an estimated growth rate of 10.6 per cent during the current fiscal. He further said the state maintained the trend of past five year and recorded 15 per cent GSDP rate against national growth rate of 12.3 per cent.

He said in addition to the assurances made at the time of Elections, the Government is planning to implement more programmes for the welfare of all sections of people. He also announced increasing Social Welfare Pensions to Old, Destitutes and Widows to 2016 per month and for Divyangs 3016 rupees per month. He also announced  increase in crop investment to farmers to 10 thousand rupees per year and per acre.

Medical and Health Minister E. Rajender presented the Vote on Account Budget simultaneously in the Legislative Council.
