In Uttar Pradesh, the Budget session of the state legislature started today amidst ruckus and disruption from opposition.

Governor Ram Naik in his address to joint sitting of the legislative assembly and legislative council highlighted the works done by state government. He said that the government is working for the development of state and implementing various schemes for the benefit of common people.

Mentioning the Kumbh and Pravasi Bhartiya divas Mr Naik said that these were successfully organised and have changed the perception of the state. He said that law and order situation in the state has improved tremendously and women can freely roam anywhere.

During the speech of Governor opposition including members of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj party and Congress came into the well of the house and started raising anti-government slogans. They even threw paper balls towards the chair of the speaker.

Reacting strongly on the behaviour of opposition members Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it is highly condemnable and barbaric act and shows the indiscipline and unruly behaviour of opposition.

After the Governor's speech both houses started separately but due to uproar both were adjourned immediately. The budget session will continue till February 22. The state government will present its third budget on 7th February.
