J&K: Governor Malik hoists Tricolour, takes salute of march past at University Ground in Jammu

In Jammu and Kashmir, Governor Satya Pal Malik hoisted the Tricolour and took salute of the march past at the University Ground in Jammu.

n his address, the Governor said, Pakistan continues to support terrorism to disrupt peace and harmony in the state. He said, increased number of ceasefire violations along the border have intensified the hardships and difficulties of the people living in the areas close to LoC and International Border.

The Governor said, the government has been making all out efforts to mitigate their sufferings. In Srinagar, Advisor to Governor unfurled the national flag and took the salute at the march past at Sher e Kashmir Cricket Stadium.
 
In Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced to waive off irrigation tax dues of farmers to the tune of over 200 crores rupees. Addressing the Republic Day function in Raipur, the Chief Minister said, more than 15 lakh farmers would be benefited with this decision. Central para-military forces, state police and NCC cadets participated in the parade.
 
In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed prizes to 155 artistes from 13 states who took part in Republic Day programs at Lucknow. After unfurling the tricolour, the Chief Minister said, the day is the country's national festival that brings the feeling of 'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat' to new height.
 
In Punjab, the main function was held at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. Addressing the gathering after hoisting the national flag, State Health Minister Punjab Brahm Mohindra said, the state government would soon launch Universal Healthcare scheme in the state. Under the scheme, treatment for 1,330 patients would be provided free of cost to the 43 lakh families.
 
In Gujarat, Governor OP Kohli unfurled the tricolor in presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani at Palanpur.In Tripura, the main function was organised at Assam Riffles Ground in Agartala. In his address, Governor Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki appreciated the steps taken by the state government to contain drug trafficking and maintain law and order in the state.
 

In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy distributed Anna Medals for Gallantry, Gandhi Adigal Police Medals at a function in Chennai. Forty seven contingents, including armed forces, coast guard and state police took part in the parade.
 
 
In Sri Lanka, the main function was held at India House in Colombo where High Commissioner Mr Taranjeet Singh Sandhu unfurled the tricolor. A BSF contingent staged a march past, while a tableau marking the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi were part of the celebrations.
 

In Nepal, after hoisting national flag, Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri read out President's message at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. He honored widows and dependents of fourteen ex-servicemen and handed over cheques amounting to 7 crore twenty six lakh rupees. 30 ambulances, 6 buses and books were also gifted to various health facilities and educational institutions of Nepal.
 
The Republic Day was also with enthusiasm in Bhutan. In UAE, Indian Ambassador Navdeep Suri and the Consul General of India in Dubai Vipul led the Indian expats in celebrating the Republic Day.
