BJP today said the next Lok Sabha elections would be a fight between stability and instability.

In a political resolution passed in the ongoing BJP National Council meeting in New Delhi, the party said the 2019 General elections will be a fight between honesty and dishonesty and time has come for the country to decide whether it wants a strong or a weak government.

Earlier, briefing about the resolution, senior party leader and Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad said the India of 2019 is vastly different from the India of the 1990s where a Prime Minister did not last for more than one year.

He also said the resolution also talks about inclusive growth in every sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Reacting to SP-BSP alliance, he said the two parties have come together because they are afraid of Mr Modi and want to oppose him. He said the alliance is not in the interest of the nation and Uttar Pradesh but is a move for political survival.

Earlier, speaking on the resolution, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, security of the country is the top priority of the government. He said non performance and corruption were the features of the UPA government but after NDA came to power, good governance, ease of doing business and development has been delivered.

He said the reforms undertaken by the government during the last four and half years have yielded good results. He said 20 crore people have been benefited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's different schemes and optical fiber network has been laid in the country in over 3 lakh Kilometers.

Mr. Gadkari said, Congress cannot digest this pace of development and is trying to malign the government by bringing forward false allegations of corruption. He said the Supreme Court has already clarified there is no corruption in the Rafale deal.
Mr. Gadkari said demonetization has put curbs on terrorism and Naxalism. He added that GDP growth has increased and so has the number of tax payers.

In his speech, Senior party leader and Union Minister Arun Jaitley asked the party workers to go to the polls on the basis of strong and decisive leadership of Narendra Modi and good performance of the NDA government.

He said when it comes to the issue of leadership, the opposition feels uncomfortable as it does not have a strong, hardworking and performing leader like Narendra Modi who has proved his mettle.

He said it is the first time in the history of the country that India has become one of the fastest growing economies consistently for five years. He said Mr Modi is the first Prime Minister who has passed benefits of economic development to the poor.

On the Rafale deal he said that NDA government has saved thousands of crores of rupees and sealed a 20 percent cheaper deal. He also said Supreme Court decision on the deal has exposed the lies of opposition.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said there are alliances being formed to overthrow Prime Minister Narendra Modi because he is running a stable and corruption free government.

He added that within 1.5 years, Uttar Pradesh government has given houses to 18 lakh poor people under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, irrespective of their caste or religion. He pointed out that only 63 thousand houses were built under SP government in 5 years of rule.
