Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh today said strict law is the only way to deal with corruption in the country.

He said the government has taken many steps in this direction. Releasing a book on a Crusade against corruption in New Delhi, Mr Harivansh said if strict legislations were brought by the government right after independence, the current scenario regarding corruption would not have existed.

On the occasion, former central minister Sompal said the corruption cannot fully be eradicated but it can be minimized.

He said the digitalization has reduced the corruption. The chairperson of  Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts Ram Bahadur Rai was also present in the event.
