Advances in field of communication immensely benefited the entire country says Ravi Shankar Prasad

Electronics & IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said advances in the field of communication have immensely benefited the entire country. As many as 307 government services are available on Umang platform. Efforts are on to cover all central and state services in smaller cities as well.

Mr. Prasad was releasing the special issue of the Yojana magazine dedicated to digital India. The journal is published by the Publications Division of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

Mr. Prasad noted that over 100 Business Process Outsourcing or BPO units have come up in small towns across 20 states and two Union Territories in the last four and a half years. India has 127 units manufacturing mobile handsets. The promotion of hardware manufacturing companies has created more than 4.5 lakh job opportunities, the Minister added.
