India launched its sophisticated earth observation satellite HysIS successfully from Sriharikota on Thursday.

The national space agency ISRO launched the hyper-spectral imaging satellite HysIS onboard its workhorse rocket PSLV-C43.

The rocket also put thirty other micro and nano-satellites of customers from eight nations in a different orbit, as part of the same mission.

Talking to media in Sriharikota after the launch, ISRO Chairman Dr K Sivan described the satellite as an excellent space-asset for the nation. He informed the ISRO has a long line-up of launch missions in coming days.
