Rajasthan: Total of 189 women candidates contesting assembly elections on 7th of next month

In Rajasthan, a total of 189 women candidates are contesting assembly elections on the 7th of next month. This is the highest number of women candidates in the state so far.

The first assembly elections held in the state in 1952 saw only four women contestants, but no one could win. Since then, the number of women candidates has been on the rise.
