This card contains the status of soils with respect to 12 parameters. It also provides crop wise fertiliser recommendations. Our correspondent filed a ground report from Pune.

Maharashtra has already achieved target given under Soil Health Card scheme. Pune leads Maharashtra by distributing 1 lakh 93 thousand and 25 Soil Health Cards. A beneficiary from Bhor has said that his yield increased with less expenditure on fertilizers.

Soil health card is one of the best programme for improving the soil health and increasing the production. When we know the exact requirement of nutrients it is a nutrient for a soil it reduces the input cost when you use according to requirement of the soil health.
