CBSE affiliation bylaws revamped to ensure speed, transparency and ease of doing business: HRD Minister
PIB
The CBSE affiliation bye-laws have been revamped to ensure speed, transparency and ease of doing business.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said, the affiliation process has been recast to remove the hurdles in obtaining the 'No Objection Certificate' or NOC, both at the State and Central levels.
He said, the District Education Officer will now examine the requests for the CBSE affiliation.
Every year, CBSE gets over 25 hundred requests for affiliation. He said, the entire process is being made online.
The Minister said, the earlier cumbersome procedure of obtaining requisite certificates has been simplified to make the CBSE's job easier.
The board will not revisit any of the aspects vetted at the state level.
Mr Javadekar said, the criteria henceforth will be outcome-based.
The Minister said, on getting a satisfactory inspection report, the CBSE will issue a letter of intent to the concerned school. Mr Javadekar said, there will be no hidden cost in fees. Sports will get full encouragement.
