Parliamentarians pay tributes to former Lok Sabha Speaker Bali Ram Bhagat in Parliament House on his Birth Anniversary

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today paid floral tributes to Bali Ram Bhagat, former Lok Sabha Speaker at his portrait in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his Birth Anniversary. 

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel and several Members of Parliament were present on the occasion. 
     
A booklet containing the profile of Bhagat brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries.

A veteran freedom fighter with rich parliamentary experience and deep knowledge of parliamentary practices and procedures, Bhagat was elected as the Speaker of the Fifth Lok Sabha on 5 January 1976. 

A veteran freedom fighter with rich parliamentary experience and deep knowledge of parliamentary practices and procedures, he passed away in New Delhi on 2nd of January 2011.
