Assam govt to recruit over 9000 teachers in Lower and Upper primary schools

The Assam government will recruit over 9000 teachers in Lower and Upper primary schools. Replying to a question in assembly today , Education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya said that the Gauhati High court has recently passed an order to complete the recruitment process to 9513 regular posts after necessary amendment in the advertisement. 

Earlier, due to pending court case the process of recruitment could not be initiated. The minister also said that around 1200 teachers will be appointed in secondary schools as Hindi, Sanskrit and Arabic teachers. In another answer , Water Resource minister Keshab Mahanta said that 4.27 lakh hectare of land has been eroded in the state. Mr. Mahanta said that the Assam government has got a loan amount of 261 crore rupees from the Asian Development Bank to protect the land from soil erosion due to floods in river Brahmaputra .
