The Ministry has clarified that banks will remain open and banking activity will continue unhindered in the first week of September. It said, banks will observe holidays only on Sunday, 2nd of September and second Saturday on 8th of September.

The Ministry said, Monday is not a pan India holiday and banks in some States where a holiday is declared will remain closed. ATMs in all States will be fully functional and there will be no impact on online banking transactions.
