Maharashtra govt sends 50 tonnes of tur dal to flood-hit Kerala

The Maharashtra Govt yesterday flagged sent 50 tonnes of tur dal as aid to flood-affected Kerala.The Netravati express train loaded with the food package was flagged off yesterday by State Agriculture Minister Chandrakant Patil S, from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus  in Mumbai.

Speaking to the reporters Chandrakant Patil said this Supply of Food package is with the ongoing support  after the Maharashtra Govt already announced help of Rs 20 crore from the state government and Rs 10 crore from the Maharashtra State Road Trasnsport Corporation.

He said the funds will be used for infrastructure development and rebuilding the areas, which will take some time but this help in the form of tur dal is meant for immediate use as many people will need pulses and food grains so that they can cook and eat.
