Nirmala Sitharaman assures Karnataka of all assistance in rebuilding flood hit Kodagu region

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has assured Kodagu in Karnataka of all assistance in rebuilding the region ravaged by flood and landslides.

She has assured that Central assistance will be given according to the guidelines of the Disaster Response Fund.

Saying that she will speak to the Prime Minister and Home minister about it, she also informed that she will speak to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to pitch in for the development of infrastructure in the district.

Speaking to media persons in Kodagu district headquarters Madakeri today the Defence minister said that one crore rupees will be given from MPLAD from her side.

She offered to send Indian Army’s Border Roads Organisation task force to advise the administration on building roads in hilly terrain.

Earlier in the day, the Defence Minister visited Kushalnagar and Madapura and interacted with the persons affected by flood and landslides.
