SC agrees to hear next week appeals of Delhi govt relating to scope of its various powers

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear next week appeals of the Delhi government relating to the scope of its various powers. Recently, a constitution bench of the apex court held that Delhi's Lieutenant Governor has no independent power to take decisions. 

A bench, headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra, today considered the submission of the Delhi government that even after the verdict the stalemate over the issue of public services was continuing and that needed to be dealt with by an appropriate bench. The bench told the lawyer representing the Delhi government that the matter will be listed next week.
