Lawyer moves SC alleging contemptuous remarks by advocates, politicians on judiciary

A petition was today filed in the Supreme Court alleging that various advocates and politicians are making contemptuous allegations against the apex judiciary on social media and various news channels.

The petition was filed by advocate Gaurav Bhatia, who is also a BJP spokesperson. He alleged that certain uncharitable remarks are being made by advocates and political activists and they should be taken note of by the judiciary.

A bench, headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra, said it will consider the petition next week.
