Tamilnadu CM reviews works carried out at Kallanai reservoir

Tamilnadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin who is on two day tour to Cauvery delta region in the State reviewed the works carried out at Kallanai reservoir.

State Ministers, MPs and senior officials of the water resources and agriculture ministry also accompanied the Chief Minister to brief him on the developments.

In an open letter to his party workers today, Stalin said that his Government would ensure smooth flow of water which will benefit lakhs of farmers in the region.

AIR correspondent reports, in agriculture related news, the Madras High Court has asked the State Government to immediately take steps to protect the harvested paddy kept in the open air.

In a suo moto case, The first bench of the High Court consisting of Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice Senthil Kumar Ramamoorthy said that some policy or measure be indicated to take care of harvested crops in this month as there was prediction of rains.

The Court then posted the plea to 17th June and asked the Government to take appropriate measures.
