The Indian Meteorological Department has confirmed that the southwest monsoon has covered the entire state of Maharashtra.
According to IMD Scientist K.S. Hosalikar, severe weather warning between 10 to 14 th June has been issued for Kokan and coastal areas of Mumbai region.
In Raigad, Palghar and Ratnagiri districts, it has been raining heavily in some places for the last two days.
The meteorological department has forecast heavy rains with winds of 12 to 20 kmph.
AIR correspondent reports, Raigad District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary had instructed all the local administrators to remain vigilant.
As a precautionary measure, 2 NDRF teams have arrived in the district from Pune today, one at Manor and the other at Vasai.
The district received 60.4 mm of rainfall.
Also in Pen Taluqa, a team led by Rajkumar of NRDF visited Pen Tehsildar Aruna Jadhav and got information about the affected villages.
After that, along with Deputy Tehsildar, he visited Antore and Navghar villages of Pen.
The team consists of 20 jawans including four female jawans.
However, after the meteorological department warned of heavy rains in Ratnagiri district, as a precautionary measure, 2,500 people from Dapoli taluka will be shifted to safer places.
This includes 1329 people from 280 families in 15 flood-prone villages and 1182 people from 313 families in eight flood-prone areas, said Dapoli tehsildar Vaishali Patil.
