Indian Meteorological Department has issued a Red and Orange ” to Kokan, coastal area and Mumbai region. On the basis of this ”, Maharashtra Chief Minister Udhhav Thackeray has taken a review of the situation from Mumbai Municipal Corporation Control Room and discussed it with District Collectors of Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Palghar for immediate precautionary measures.
AIR Correspondent reports, the Indian Meteorological Department has announced the arrival of monsoon and forecast moderate to heavy rains for the next two to three days in Kokan, coastal area and Mumbai region. Red and Orange ” has been issued to these regions. Considering the possibility of heavy rains, the Chief Minister had instructed the Disaster Management Department, local authorities to convene a meeting and be and vigilant.
He also instructed to ensure that no form of patient care, including COVID,should be disrupted. Thackeray has also directed the police and other agencies to take immediate action to remove the traffic obstructions in Mumbai.
